CBT (Cognitive behavioural therapy)

CBT is a talking therapy that can help you manage your problems by changing the way you think and behave.

It’s most commonly used to treat anxiety and depression, but can be useful for other mental and physical health problems and is based on the concept that your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and actions are interconnected, and that negative thoughts and feelings can trap you in a vicious cycle Through CBT I aim to help you deal with overwhelming problems in a more positive way by breaking them down into smaller more manageable parts which in turn will help you change these negative patterns to improve the way you feel.

Unlike some other talking treatments, CBT deals with your current problems, rather than focusing on issues from your past.

CBT has been shown to be an effective way of treating a number of different mental health conditions in addition to depression or anxiety disorders,

CBT can also help people with:

Although CBT cannot cure the physical symptoms of these conditions, it can help people cope better with their symptoms. The course of treatment usually lasts for between 5 and 10 sessions, with each session lasting 30 to 60 minutes every 2 weeks.

During the sessions, I will work with you to break down your problems into their separate parts, such as your thoughts, physical feelings and actions.

We will analyse these areas to work out if they’re unrealistic or unhelpful and to determine the effect they have on each other and on you.

We will then be able to help you work out how to change unhelpful thoughts and behaviours.

After working out what you can change, I will ask you to practise these changes in your daily life and you’ll discuss how you got on during the next session.

The eventual aim of therapy is to teach you to apply the skills you have learnt during treatment to your daily life.

This should help you manage your problems and stop them from having a negative impact on your life, even after your course of treatment finishes.

NLP(Neuro-Linguistic Programming)

NLP is used to enhance performance, to help an individual control their emotional state and to stay focused on what they want from life.  Every individual has their own set of assumptions and beliefs. Everyone creates their own unique world around their self.

By uncovering these sensory memories and experiences we can help change the neural network by introducing a new set of positive pictures, beliefs and thoughts based on what the individual does well, thus activating a different set of neural networks.

Although the client’s history is important, it is not primary to affect the desired change. When we help the client use different feelings and emotions, the person’s attitude and behaviour will change.

NLP is constantly evolving based on what science is telling us and uses structures and patterns in common with hypnotherapy and to some degree cognitive behavioural therapy. Behavioural patterns learned through experience can be changed to achieve specific goals in life and sometimes very quickly change aperson’s state.

  • i.e. Help build confidence.

  • Help re-frame old negative memories.

  • Help you move forward

  • NLP can also  help treat problems such as phobias, sometimes in a single session.

Using NLP practices, we help filter the mind’s perceptions, values, beliefs, and attitudes and work on improving your communication and information processing skills with the aim to help you perform better in everyday life and handle stressful situations in a more streamlined manner.

Remember; There are no failures in life, only feedback

  • If what you are doing isn’t working, do something else

  • A choice is better than no choice

  • You already have all the resources you need

Through CBT & NLP We can work together to change the way, you think and act & dispel any Negative belief’s, Self-doubts, Fears & Anxieties.

Your responsibility is only to be ready and willing to change.
